How do I reschedule a game?
If you do not have enough players to field a team please contact John Sanders at 66-723-6071. At that time, he will contact the other team’s manager and ask he/she to reschedule the game. It is up to the manager. If the opposing manager says no, then that is a forfeit win for that team. You cannot come back and say that you have enough players after the manager already said they would take the forfeit win. You have waived that right.
How do I protest an illegal player?
If you as a manager suspect that your opponent is using illegal players, you must make a formal protest by letting the umpire know that you wish to protest the game due to illegal players. The umpire will let the opposing manager know that the game is being played under protest. The umpire will finish the game and you must come in to Lancaster City Hall (44933 North Fern Ave.), the following working day, and file a written protest accompanied with $20. If the protest is upheld, the $20 will be returned.
I think we are in the wrong league, how do we change leagues?
In an attempt to make the leagues as even as possible, the City of Lancaster now offers two (2) classification games. However, classification is an art, not a science and the City makes every effort to make the most comparable league. If you feel that we have made a mistake please call John Sanders at 661-723-6071 and let him know your concerns. We do ask that you play the first two games to see if you need to be placed in a lower league or your opponent(s) need to be placed in a higher league.
How many seasons does the City of Lancaster offer?
The City of Lancaster runs three leagues year-round. Winter League runs from November through February. Spring League runs from March through June. Summer League runs from July through October. Registration forms can be mailed to you by calling 661-723-6077.
I want to play softball, but I just moved out here and I don’t have a team. How can I get on a team?
There are a couple of ways that one can get on a softball team. First, you can call John Sanders at 661-723-6071 and he can put you on a free agent list. That list is for manager’s who are in need of additional players. Your name and number will be forwarded to the manager and he may call you to play on their team. However, just because you name goes on the free agent list does not necessarily mean that you will be called. Second, you can go out to Lancaster City Park and see if any managers need players. If a team is short a player they may ask you to play that game and maybe games beyond.
